  6. WELCOME TO THE PAGESTREAM 3.0h FREE UPDATE!

  9. There are two files in this update. You must download and decompress
  10. both PGS3H1.LHA and PGS3H2.LHA before you can use this update.
  11.  
  12. This update requires disk 1 of your original PageStream3 disk set.
  13. It will not be modified by the update.
  14.  
  15. You must have sufficient free hard drive space to use this patch. 3MB
  16. of free space is recommended.
  17.  
  18. This update requires that PageStream 3.0g be installed on your hard
  19. drive. If you have an older version, you must upgrade to 3.0g before
  20. you can upgrade to 3.0h. The files required to upgrade to 3.0g from
  21. 3.0f are PGS3G1.LHA and PGS3G2.LHA. The files required to upgrade to
  22. 3.0f from previous versions are:

  24. - 3.0 ->3.0f: PGS3F.LHA & PGS30F.LHA
  25.  
  26. - 3.0a->3.0f: PGS3F.LHA & PGS3AF.LHA
  27.  
  28. - 3.0b->3.0f: PGS3F.LHA & PGS3BF.LHA
  29.  
  30. - 3.0c->3.0f: PGS3F.LHA & PGS3CF.LHA
  31.  
  32. - 3.0d->3.0f: PGS3F.LHA & PGS3DF.LHA
  33.  
  34. - 3.0e->3.0f: PGS3EF.LHA
  35.  
  36. If you're not sure what version of PageStream3 you have installed,
  37. run it and check the version number in the Navigator requester.

  40. USING THIS PATCH
  41. ----------------
  42.  
  43. Once you have 3.0g correctly installed, decompress PGS3H1.LHA and
  44. PGS3H2.LHA to the same directory. Decompress them both to RAM: if
  45. you have sufficient memory.
  46.  
  47. IF YOU HAVE 5MB OR MORE OF RAM, you can decompress the archives to
  48. RAM and not worry about memory limitations.
  49.  
  50. IF YOU HAVE 4MB OF RAM, you can decompress the archives to RAM, but
  51. you must delete the archives from RAM before running the patch.
  52. (Copy them somewhere safe in case you need them again!)
  53.  
  54. IF YOU HAVE 3MB OF RAM, you cannot decompress the archives to RAM.
  55. Decompress them to your hard drive.
  56.  
  57. A drawer called "3.0hUpdate" will be created when you decompress the
  58. patches. Both archives contain this Read.1st! file, so your
  59. decompression program will ask if you it is ok to overwrite the
  60. first Read.1st! file; this is normal. Double click on the
  61. Install-PageStream3.0h icon in this drawer to begin.

  63. YOU SHOULD KEEP A COPY OF THE PATCH FILES UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE
  64. SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED THIS UPDATE IN CASE YOU NEED TO RUN IT AGAIN
  65. OR MANUALLY. IF YOU DELETE THEM AFTER DECOMPRESSING THEM, AND
  66. SOMETHING GOES WRONG DURING PATCHING, YOU WILL HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THEM
  67. AGAIN!

  69. TECHNICAL NOTES: this update will patch the PageStream3, BME and
  70. PageLiner program files in your PageStream3: directory. Every other
  71. file changed from 3.0g is included.
  72.  
  73. LOW MEMORY NOTES: If you do not have enough memory to install this
  74. patch (the SAS patch utility will fail if there is not enough free
  75. memory), you can conserve memory by decompressing the patch archives
  76. to your hard drive instead of to RAM:. If the patch fails due to low
  77. memory, you will not be able to use PageStream3 until you have
  78. successfully installed the patch because you will then have a
  79. mixture of 3.0h and earlier files. If you need to run the patch
  80. manually, decompress the PGSpatch.LHA (or BMEpatch.LHA or
  81. PLpatch.LHA files as applicable) archive found in the PGS3H1.LHA
  82. file. Use the spatch utility from this archive. The command syntax
  83. is:

  85. spatch -oPageStream3:PageStream3.0g -pPageStream3.pch PageStream3:PageStream3
  86.  
  87. spatch -oPageStream3:BME2.0c -pBME.pch PageStream3:BME
  88.  
  89. spatch -oPageStream3:PageLiner2.0e -pPageLiner.pch PageStream3:PageLiner
  90.  
  91. The first parameter is the new version, the second parameter is the
  92. patch file name (include the path if required), and the third
  93. parameter is the currently installed version of PageStream3. Delete
  94. the old version (PageStream3, BME or PageLiner) when you're done and
  95. then rename the new version to the old version (ie, PageStream 3.0h
  96. to PageStream3).

  98. UPDATE OPTIONS: you can get the latest version of the PageStream3.0
  99. disk set at any time for $10 from Soft-Logik sales.
